About Joe Q
I'm not a technology founder who discovered craftsmanship.
I'm a craftsman who discovered a problem.
For more than thirty-five years, I've earned a living making things with my hands and standing behind a booth at farmers markets, craft fairs, homestead festivals, and community events.
Week after week, I've met thousands of families searching for healthier food, better tools, and people they could trust.
I've also met thousands of talented makers trying to build a business while juggling websites, marketing, social media, and everything else that pulls them away from the work they truly love.
I know that life because I've lived it.
I've packed the trailer before sunrise, set up in the rain, spent long weekends sharing my craft with customers, and torn everything down to do it all again the next week.
Along the way I realized something.
The greatest challenge facing many makers isn't their craftsmanship.
It's having the time, tools, and support to build a sustainable business.
That's why I built APRON.
Not simply to create another marketplace, but to build a place where makers can thrive, families can discover people they trust, and the knowledge, skills, and traditions that have shaped generations can continue to be passed on for generations to come.
